6 months agoGreat location, will definitely recommend! I had an early appointment to get a hitch put on my car. The car was done by the time I had expected. The hitch looks great, looks like it came on the car from the factory. As it was when they first opened on a Wed, Josh, the manager had an opportunity to talk to me while I waited. Very personable, helpful, and impressive with his historical knowledge of the location and its growth. Everything was neat and clean, and well stocked. He made suggestions for additional uses for the hitch and potential future purchases. I would definitely recommend this location and, though I live in Sussex (and hour away), Iwill return on any of my future needs for moving and/or hitch. Well done guys!

4 months agoThe people here are very nice and show a genuine desire to help, but they just don’t know what they are doing. Came to pick up a trailer after reserving online and they barely knew how to use the computer system. Took far too long to do the exchange and they didn’t even know how to run a check for payment. Came out with an electrical adapter and it was broken. It just felt like an endless run of important aspects of the job that they had just never been trained on.

a year agoI've had a few bad experiences here. When I reserved a storage unit last year, the wait in line was crazy (over 30 minutes). There was only one employee available, and he didn't know how to set it all up. On top of that, the computer didn't work. I just grabbed my lock, put my stuff in the unit, and called the manager to figure it all out later. Most recently, I called to cancel my unit, and the customer service agent said no problem. Since then, I have been charged two months in a row, and their website shows that my unit is still active. I have asked for a credit, but I shouldn't have to. I'm getting the run around! I don't plan to rent from here again.

a year agoMade appt for install, and technician did not start work until I arrived at the location 4 hours later. Paid for electrical hookup & labor for hitch installation and did not receive paid service/product. Attempted to call to discuss matter with manager, no answer. Called U-Haul corporate, was told someone would call me back; still waiting 4 business days later...

4 months agoThis location will not return calls and give you the run around. Totally unprofessional. I’ve called the location several times only to get re-redirect to a cooperate number, I was told from the cooperate number that they will be emailed/messaged etc…… still no response.it’s been a month and a few days know.

4 months agoThe staff at this UHaul location were super helpful! We had an issue with the wiring connection for a trailer that was installed from another location, and they fixed the problem for us mid road trip. We called in advance and they were able to switch out the part and reinstall it within 20 minutes. They were polite, helpful, and made us feel confident driving a U-Haul. Thank you again!

a year agoCalled the day of.... needed to rent a trailer... picked up a clean nice trailer and away I went. No problems at all and I was in and out rather quickly! Would highly recommend if you need to rent something!

4 months agoIf I could give this place Zero I would! Rented a 1 way U Haul over a week ago and was told the day before pick up would be in Waukesha...more than 120 mile round trip....use any other service if you can besides U Haul. Only reimburse is a free 60 miles and a 25 gas card...that does not cover the inconvenience and cost of time and gas....

a year agoI gave this location only three stars. And it is with the regret that I only did three stars. The customer service was great the people that were on the inside were very friendly. However it is very difficult to return equipment after hours. There is some type of understanding that should be made more clear to the customer either in writing or by the customer service Representatives. It was very confusing and I feel that is another way that the consumers are tricked into paying more money for a service that they guarantee would only cost a certain amount. But when you're not able to return the equipment properly. You lose more money.

7 months agoWas charged $20 more than I should have been/was quoted for. Come to find out there’s an added $20 fee for dropping a truck off after hours, and yet they never told me this, all they had said was I should bring it back before 8:30 pm & I’m good, which I got it back well prior to. Also, multiple workers were having very loud, unprofessional conversations right by the customer service desk.

6 months agoMy husband and I rented two units to store our belongings during a cross country move. The units were clean, easy to access, and all of the instructions provided to us were easy to follow. Twana, the employee on site, was EXTREMELY helpful, answering all of my questions, and she even helped get our truck driver set up with docking access close to our storage units. 5 stars all around!

a month agoI rented a 12x9 trailer from the Uhaul location off of 164. When I picked the trailer up, I received great service and the gentleman was very helpful. When I dropped the trailer off however, the service was absolutely terrible. Mike told me to drop the trailer off where I picked it up. I had no problem doing that. Then he told me to unhook it from my truck. I was unfamiliar with how to use the cranks they have on their trailers. Mike rudely explained how to do it and threatened me with extra charges that did not seem reasonable. Completely unprofessional!

7 months agoI rented a truck and wanted a 1:00 pickup. Initially I said 10:00 and then asked for a change to 1:00. I went through the check in process and provided my credit card information for payment. I noticed that they had me marked for 10:00 am pickup but I didn’t think it mattered that I picked it up late since I already checked in and I had requested the 1:00 pickup. I went to the Uhaul location at 1:00 and was told since I was more than an hour late, they rented it to someone else and they had nothing else available. No courtesy call, nothing. Just a sticky note with a number to call. They must do this to people all the time because the guy who waited on me had the phone number memorized. He really didn’t care that he totally ruined my move. Now I have no vehicle for a move to Indiana tomorrow. I will never use UHaul again. And this location clearly had a horrible culture and should think about hiring people that understand the stress of moving.

a year agoWell they say a picture is worth a thousand words. But if you need help understanding, this employee would not stay off his phone throughout the entire interaction with me. I would have been a 5 minute process that took about 30 minutes because this employee had some really important texts to attend to. I will never be coming back to this location and will avoid U-haul in general at all costs if these are the types of employees they hire.

a month agoExcellent experience at this location! Check-in was short time to get ,girl at the counter was knowledgeable. Dave to me out to the car hauler and hooked me up and was a great hardworking person. Had an issue on the road with a flat tire Uhaul was fast in getting it replaced. Made it to Florida with no other issues. With all of us issues going on with no help, Dave at the Milwaukee location was Hands-On and great U-Haul staff getting the tire fixed was outstanding. Thanks again for a great experience

a year agoGenerally don't go out of my way to write bad reviews... but this one I felt I needed to warn others. I think hot mess best describes what I experienced. Back in Sept 2021 I went online and ordered a hitch and installation to be done at the location on Capitol. My appointment rolls around, I come in - and upon arrival I'm informed my parts aren't in. (I was peeved, could've called me!) But whatever - so we rescheduled. I then received a call about a week later that the parts were still delayed (again, no big deal). Then I was ghosted. I tried calling and never could get a hold of a person. Finally, I ended up calling U-Haul Corporate. They got someone on the phone, who tried to claim I cancelled my order (even though I certainly had not, and also had not gotten a refund.) They scheduled me for another installation appointment, so I went in again. I went in about 20 minute before my appointment to drop my vehicle off ... and there was literally not a single person in the entire U-Haul building. No one working the front desk. No one in the back. Not a soul. There were multiple customers waiting ... and even someone on the line with U-Haul Corp asking what the heck was going on. Needless to say... I left - and didn't drop off my car. I then after calling U-Haul Corp AGAIN, asked for a refund. After multiple emails and texts (which I kept) with the owner ... who promised a refund check in 7-10 business days. It never came. So again, I called Corp U-Haul and finally got a refund 4 months after trying to get a hitch. Long story short - go somewhere else.

4 months agoLeft wallet here for less than 24 hours and it was found immediately when employees checked the van i rented. Employees stole the money and a credit card from my wallet. Have contacted police and will be reaching out to a corporate office. Uhaul location is fine otherwise.

a year agoAbsolutely terrible experience, waited 1.5 hours at the location trying desperately to get the key to a truck I rented and prepaid ahead of time. They apparently lost my key then I waited until the office opened but workers were 20 minutes late. Once I talked with somebody in person they couldn't help so I left with no truck.

a month agoThey stole my best friend stuff out her storage and said she told them she no longer wants her stuff it was 15,000 worth items her whole house was storage there she has 5 kids all their bedroom sets their toys her furniture I mean everything for 4 mths she was paying 250 for her fees whole time they cleaned her storage out they steal everything

10 months agoReserved a truck a month in advance for moving day. Went in right on time to get it, do the online check in to avoid the line & lack of staff to accommodate. The clerk (Elisse) tells me I'm good to go, go out to get my truck. I go out there, someone else already has the keys- we were given the same truck. No big deal, I go back in. Mistakes happen. But Elisse was so rude & acted like I should know that the truck was double booked & referred to her computer screen that I could not see & said that there was a system "glitch". No, you made a mistake. So just apologize instead of trying to blame your customer in front of a obby full of people. She was so unprofessional. Other than that, the price was right & the return was easy. Some people have no business working with the public.

9 months agoThe most worst place of rental equipment I online sign to pick up trailer 7am. At 7:01 somebody is in store but door is locked I than knock the door let them know I’m here to pick up my reservation. Inside worker mad and scream and yelling “not time yet” She the store manager cancel my online order Because I knock on the door at 7:01am. Wow… She think she own the uhaul store. donot care costumer’s busy schedule .

5 months agoMy girlfriend rented a Uhaul from this Uhaul location and it was filled with Roaches. Even with Pictures Uhaul would not refund her money for the truck. This company is horrible we will never use them again.

8 months agoThis is not reflective of all UHaul locations. This is the West Allis location. We set up a hitch to be installed on truck for pulling a small boat. The morning of scheduled drop off, was advised "let me check if we have the wiring" . That was fine but thought why just finding out now? (luckily they said had the wiring.) Dropped off our truck about 8:40 am. At about 1:40 we received a call that mechanic could not install it but had no explanation as to why. I said I'd have to wait for my husband to get there to pick up our truck. Was told again they could not explain why it was not possible to install and only the mechanic was able to. I was told could not do this on the phone. About 4 pm my husband arrived and there were no mechanics. STILL No explanation. No notes in the computer. We wasted time and effort and also needed a hitch by the weekend. We'd appreciate that a mechanic would have called us and that was not the case. Also every time we called- on hold for over 10 to 15 minutes. Or NOT AT ALL.....Very unprofessional. Do not install a hitch at this location.

5 months agoPeople should get fired here. I called the half month to book a truck for 4 days and they told me just walk in . Then I walk in one time to make sure. They said it should be ok. When I come into the store. She said no truck for that long. That ruin everything

a year agoI see some people have not had a good experience, not the case with me. I rented a 15' one-way to Raleigh, NC online. Did the online check-in a couple days before, and when I went to get the truck Alex got me on the road in about 10 minutes. Drop-off in Raleigh went smoothly. No problems on the road or at either end.

3 weeks agoWent to get a propane refill this evening and popped into the store to ask. There were 3 employees and 1 customer at the counter. I made contact with one of them and he said he would be right out to meet me at the refill station. I got my tank ready and waited, and waited, ...and waited. Nearly 10 minutes had gone by before he appeared outside putting his jacket and hat on. THEN he proceeds to join one his coworkers at the rear of a rental truck and stare while the other one attempts to figure out why the door is broken. After several more minutes I packed up my tank and left. If this location had been busy at the time I could understand, but they were not at all. Apparently this employee/manager believes that the customer comes last and that his time is much more important than anyone else's. Horrible customer service and I'm willing to bet that U-Haul corporate would see this as unacceptable. I'll take my business elsewhere.

a week agoReserved a trailer through the website which stated uhaul would call to confirm closer to our pickup date. No call, text or email came. Upon the date of our pick up we drive there to find its at another location. Terrible experience.

6 months agoI accidently left my parking pass for my new apt's parking lot on the rearview mirror. There isnt a phone number for the actual building available, only for their call center. I have called 4 times and all i am told by the CSR is that "the store's manager isn't answering but I have left a message and sent an email" . Supposedly these people have left 4 voicemails and 4 emails on my behalf yet NOBODY has gotten back to me. Just canceled my other reservation for a truck i had scheduled for next week due to this lack of professionalism.

9 months agoOne of the more frustrating experiences of my life has been trying to schedule a hitch installation for my vehicle at this location. I scheduled 3 appointments and each time I was told the hitch would be installed so I coordinated my family's schedules in order to leave my vehicle there. Which meant I always had to pay for a ride to work or to get back to pick it up. On the 3rd time I was told they again don't have the correct hitch and it would take 2 weeks to arrive. I was told by the store manager that he could provide 20% discount and waive labor which sounded like it cost the installer and not the store. Employees seemed frustrated which was appreciated but no one could provide a acceptable solution. do yourself a favor and avoid this location.

2 months agoNovember 2022, While enter in the building the teams acting like they didnt want to be at work playing loud music on their phone it was a older guy in front of me they couldn't hear them talking to me him i said you turn you r music down so he can, hear what you saying he got mad. After getting my keys to the truck, i ask so you guys pulling the truck no it he no an laught you get in the park alot it this time it was raining so hard in it was so many truck in the lot. When i gotten to my place to start moving my stuff i know its the dolly wasnt in the back up the truck so i can move my big stuff. I called back to the store they said you should pick up at the doors how was i post to know thats it was no communcations at all bad customers.

7 months agoI have attempted on multiple occassions to contact the business and their corporate office about this issue. The corporate office keeps referring back to local management who never contacts back. It is clear that they chose to be nicer to other customers and they chose not to take care of me because I was wearing LGBT Pride apparel and am a younger Asian-American. This is truly unacceptable. On June 4, I went to this location to pick up a trailer reservation, but was advised I could not keep the trailer for duration reserved because they still needed it. The reservation was made with a $50 guarantee and, if it could not be honored, I would receive $50. The location advised to call customer service. When I contacted customer service, I was advised that the location noted that I was rude so they would not give me the trailer. So their initial statement to me in-person was a lie. I then made another reservation with another $50 guarantee because the website and customer service said it was available. and was advised by the location they did not have that trailer either, but nobody there knew how to honor the guarantee. I have waited two months for a response.

6 months agoSo I rented a truck back like 3 months ago. Everything was paid up front. Upon return which was prior to them closing they said everything was good & I was free to go. A week later I get a email saying I was being charged an additional 195 for literally at 12 hour rental. Already beyond irritated because I had already paid like 140 up front. I of course called and disputed I was told that everything looked good and I owed nothing more. Yet every week I get 3 charges back to back for $195, $146, and $96 all minutes apart and of course my bank declines them everytime due to suspicious activity. It's crazy. I paid my dues. I was told I was good to go and even called and was told I owe nothing. So why are they still charging me for almost 2 months now 3 different amounts. Sounds suspicious to me. And no the police won't do anything unless it actually goes through. It's just crazy. I have to get a whole new account just to prevent my card from being charged.

12 months agoI see the reviews are hit or miss here, but I had a great experience. The staff and manager (Joe) were all kind, helpful, and happy to help. I rented a trailer for the afternoon and they first checked if I accepted it's condition, hooked it up to the hitch for me, and unhooked it all when I returned. Couldn't have been easier.

10 months agoNO QUALMS HERE!!! My experience with this location has been STELLAR! I was very VERY shocked read any bad reviews. I then looked closer and noticed that the bad reviews were based on years ago and evidently a whole different crew.

9 months agoSamuel installed my hitch and he was terrific. Extremely thorough and attentive and clearly wanted the best for his customer. The manager, Joseph, was pleasant and professional and so was his staff. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because of U-Haul corporation itself. Very corporate and impersonal, hard to talk to a real person when you call, not great customer service when you do finally get a hold of someone, and when I arrived at the store they didn’t have record of my order (which was all processed electronically, not with a human being). Fortunately Samuel was able to take care of me and they had the supplies needed on hand. I’d really give it more like a 4.5 star review, as the physical location/store positives outweighed the larger company negatives.

a year agoThe gentleman older African American male was super rude to me and my husband. Not a race issue I’m black myself but this guy told us that we are dramatic because we wanted another truck, the truck he gave use had low thread on the passenger tire and the tire was deflating. I usually always go to this location and always use U-Haul but after this interaction with this gentleman I will ever come back. I can say The manager was nice and gave us another truck. I just didn’t understand why we had to go through the song and dance for another truck. It’s my safety and we deserved better customer service. I was so disappointed.

5 months agoI would like to share my rude and horrible experience at this location! It will be my first and last time going there. My little nephew and I went in on 10/2/2022 around 9am-11:30am for a propane refill. I waited by the refill station and rung the bell as instructed on the sign. I rung the bell about 3-4 times over a period of 15 mins waiting outside for help. I decided to go inside and ask for help and saw 2 workers (a man and a woman) behind the register helping the line (there were less than 6 people waiting in line). As I was inside and waiting in line, my nephew rung the bell about 2 more times. The male worker became irritated and starting "talking out loud" about how annoying we were being ringing the bell. He stepped away from the counter, step outside the door and yelled out to my nephew to stop ringing the bell. So I said, "I've been waiting over 15 mins for help, when can someone be available to help me?" The male worker shouted "we're short staffed and need to finish the line first." So I told him the line will not stop as people are coming in and out. I told him can I wait in line and when it's my turn someone can stepped away from the line to help me. He yelled at me and said " no! we'll get to you when we get to you." He was still shouting and mumbling words so I just walked away. Please train your staff to better handle situations when under pressure and short staffed. The way he spoke to me is unprofessional, unacceptable and should be reprimanded.

9 months agoThis place is in charge of the U Haul storage on pierce, 0 help at all they gave me a card to get into the building after being given someone’s unit already, once I went there with the new card I was greeted with “ Unknown code “ and since someone came out I went in to click the “ Call for help “ button since that’s the only way they answer I told them hey you guys gave me a non working card and I asked what can I do he just said “ I don’t know, I’m the only one here” so I just asked for a refund which then had to waste even more gas again to drive there for a refund. Definitely look elsewhere

8 months agoNot just rude, but very hostile employees. I didn't feel safe at this location by myself. Didn't have any utility dollies that I'd requested, and when I mentioned I needed them to move the woman at the desk was very short tempered, freaked out and walked off. She then came back in and continued to talk about how much of a burden I am as a customer. I've been to this location twice and both experiences were very poor and pretty nerve racking. The employees aren't only rude but hostile. I would not only avoid recommending this location to others, but also warn them of their personal safety. HORRIBLE PEOPLE WORK HERE AND WILL ARGUE WITH YOU UP TO THE POINT OF WANTING TO FIGHT YOU. JUST PLAIN GHETTO

4 months agoI been trying to reserve a u-haul at this location and it's a joke! For 2 hours this guy just puts me on hold and leaves me there and I don't even think he is fit to work at Mcdonald's place. Do not use this place it's full of lazy and hood people, just don't want to work at all, like a bunch of children
